UNISON Member Update: Band 3 Pay Delay and ongoing concerns raised
Dear Members,
Over the weekend, we received an important update regarding the PCA Band 3 pay uplifts, due from April 2025. Unfortunately, we have now been informed that these payments will not be included in the June pay due to a payroll processing matter. They will be paid in July, this is an extremely disappointing situation, we have expressed our concern over these delays, we know that this directly affects yourselves and it means waiting a further month, which clearly has an impact on our members’ trust, morale, and wellbeing.
This is another disappointing example of the ongoing mishandling of the PCA re-banding process within NEPTS. What should have been a really positive step forward for hundreds of hardworking staff has instead caused unnecessary financial hardship and widespread frustration.
In April, most PCAs were rebanded from band 2 to band 3, yet they are still waiting for their uplift and back pay, many of our members have been left out of pocket, and what should have been a well-communicated and properly managed process but has still not been fully delivered. UNISON has always promoted partnership working and is willing to continue constructive dialogue. However, we cannot ignore the daily frustrations and concerns expressed by our members and are now questioning whether the current NEPTS leadership can resolve these issues.
We will of course keep you updated with any developments.
In solidarity,
UNISON
NOTE:
July pay – you will receive April to July increase.
August pay – you will receive the national pay award increase, announced to date.
To also follow back pay for the whole period of the NEPTS re-banding.
