Member Update: Meeting with EMAS CEO & Director of Operations – Rota Changes and Next Steps

Member Update: Meeting with EMAS CEO & Director of Operations – Rota Changes and Next Steps

On Wednesday, UNISON representatives met again with the CEO and Director of Operations at EMAS to continue discussions regarding the ongoing concerns around rota changes.

During the meeting, we:

· Reviewed the areas that have still not submitted rotas.
· Raised outstanding staff concerns that remain unresolved.
· Sought and received a commitment to improve relief working arrangements.
· Secured a further commitment from the Trust to introduce a Trainee Specialist Paramedic (title to be agreed) role.

While the Trust confirmed its intention to progress the Trainee SP role (title to be agreed), further work is required to finalise the detail, This includes education and training requirements, implementation arrangements, the selection process, and a clear timeline for introduction.

The Trust has committed to the rapid development of this work, and we will continue to ensure staff are properly consulted throughout.

Talks will also continue around the implementation of the key agreements reached so far. We have made it clear that commitments must now translate into meaningful action.

UNISON continue to engage in open and constructive dialogue while we await the full results of our member survey. We remain clear that our approach is driven by members, and we will continue to negotiate strongly and robustly on behalf of EMAS staff.

We also discussed the UNISON member survey, which is now closed. Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate and provide detailed feedback. We will now be taking the necessary time to carefully review all of the responses submitted.

The agreed next steps will depend on the outcome of this review, and we will update members once the results have been fully considered and a collective position agreed.

We will continue to represent you and keep you updated as discussions progress.

In solidarity,
UNISON EMAS Branch
